We want to give a big shout out to some of the awesome shops that carry Flow Factory NW all along the Pacific Northwest. On our blog, we’ll feature a new shop every month and give you all the good reasons why you should stop by, look around and support local!
From the day they opened their doors in May 2016, Ashland Mountain Provisions has carried all our trucker designs and have been rockstar partners. They supply quality advice, apparel, footwear, and equipment to residents of the Rogue Valley (that’s where we are) and travelers alike. The shop’s fine folks and their retail/rental gear focus on hiking, backpacking, light and ultralight thru-hiking, and local water and back-country snow sports.
ABOUT ASHLAND MOUNTAIN PROVISIONS
Owner Bryant Helgeland has been passionate about the outdoors since before he can remember. As a kid, he spent summers either in a tent or at summer camp and spent three seasons in high school in the YMCA’s leadership training program before signing on as a counselor for the following two years. He started his first outdoor retail job in 1996 while in college at The University of Wisconsin, and then moved to Ashland in October 2001 to further pursue a career in the outdoor industry as a buyer for one of the established stores in town.
Bryant has spent the last 15 years learning the ins and outs of the outdoor retail business in Ashland. At Mountain Provisions, you can expect to browse a mindfully-curated selection of equipment and clothing, as well as backcountry ski and snowshoe rentals. You’ll also likely to see Bryant’s dog, Nanook, who’s famous wherever she goes - around town, in the woods, or in the snow (if you can spot a big white, fluffy dog in the snow).
Their friendly, knowledgeable, and experienced staff are all studs, and if you ever want to talk thru-hiking ask for Nana, one of the managers. She’s hiked the Pacific Crest Trail, John Muir Trail, Tahoe Rim Trail, Camino de Santiago and many more.
Another great reason to support this awesome local shop: they spend a ton of time supporting the community! They sponsor the Siskiyou Challenge Relay, Banff Film Festival, Wild and Scenic Film Festival, Rogue Farm Corps, SOU Outdoor Program, Rogue Riverkeeper, KS Wild, the upcoming Gil's High Water Party (we’ll be there too) and many more.
Whether you’re looking for new gear (or a FFNW hat), want to talk local trails, need rental equipment or just want to browse around an awesome outdoor store in downtown Ashland, this is the spot to shop. Whenever you’re in town, swing by:
